Lisa fell into her career as an illustrator, (and subsequently a graphic recorder & sketchnoter) by mixing a life-long love of drawing with a degree in product design (Carnegie Mellon University), tons of continuing education, and some practical experience.

Lisa spent her early career at corporations and agencies where she waded through roles in design and design research, beefing up her skills in qualitative research methods and honing an empathic ear.

In graphic recording, sketchnoting, and murals, Lisa has found the ideal crossroads at which she can pursue high energy projects with quick timelines while amplifying important messages, particularly from underrepresented voices, making them memorable, portable, and palatable.

Lisa lives in Minneapolis with her husband, daughter and two pugs.
